His practice includes criminal defense as well as both plaintiff and defense work in civil matters, including business and construction fraud, contract disputes, and personal injury. As a testament to his level of skill, Palm Springs Life magazine highlighted the top lawyers in the Coachella Valley in an article entitled the "Desert's Dream Team." The article noted Mr. Soda's reputation and experience:
Rod Soda is a former deputy district attomey tumed criminal defense lawyer, and he's been rated at or near the top by his colleagues on both offense and defense in the criminal arena. But one of his biggest cases came in a civil judgment against Kawasaki Motors Corporation on behalf of the inventor of the jet ski. (The award was in the millions.)
"During his career, Mr. Soda has tried well over 150 jury trials to verdict as well as countless other trials and hearings."

Because of his accomplishments and manner of practice, the revered attorney rating service Martindale-Hubbell has given Mr. Soda its highest rating of "A.V." as a preeminent lawyer in his elected fields of practice.
